Missing man David Earl.
WARRNAMBOOL police yesterday continued to search for 49-year-old missing Warrnambool man David Earl.
Mr Earl was last seen at his workplace, Environmental Fluid Systems, in Warrnambool's Coghlans Road about 4.30am on Friday.
Sergeant Leigh Wheatley said it was feared Mr Earl had harmed himself or attempted to disappear completely.
"The circumstances of how he has gone missing gives us concern about his welfare. His mobile telephone, bank cards, keys and wallet have been left and there's been no word from him," he said.
"State Emergency Service volunteers have done line searches at the back of his work premises which back onto the Merri River and we had a police dog out yesterday helping.
"It's likely the police search and rescue squad will be back in Warrnambool today after Sunday's cliff fall and we're hoping they can do a sweep of the river."
Mr Earl was expected to attend a work commitment on Friday but he did not show up.
A woman who answered the telephone at Environmental Fluid Systems yesterday said she was not authorised to make any comment on behalf of the business.
Mr Earl is described as being Caucasian and having a fair complexion. He is about 170cm tall with a thin build, grey receding hair and was last seen wearing a white business shirt, dress pants and glasses.
