The Warrnambool man was attacked at the Gateway Plaza car park about 2.30pm.
He was taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital and was last night being treated for minor injuries.
Police said anyone who witnessed the stabbing or with information should contact Warrnambool police on 5560 1333.
