The 35-year-old Yarraville woman was found dead in a collapsed tent on a private property near Rochester about 9am Sunday.
Victoria Police Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged the man with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, drink-driving and failing to stop and render assistance at a scene.
He has been bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates Court on Friday.
