Corangamite Shire Council will vote tonight on whether to lease the block to Progressing Cobden Inc or South West District Restoration Group, with the former being the recommended lessee, according to the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
Progressing Cobden Inc intends to use the block as a horse paddock with an eye towards hosting active exhibitions of its buggy collection. It would also be part of the future development of the Pioneer Dairy Park.
The council, which will meet at the Killara Centre in Camperdown from 7pm, will also use its first meeting of the year to debate cost increases for users of the Timboon Sporting Centre.
An average increase of about 40 cents for senior sports and 10 cents for junior sports is proposed.
Also on the agenda for the meeting is a proposal to prohibit alcohol from the Camperdown CBD to coincide with a planned youth event on February 21.
Councillors will vote on whether to make the CBD alcohol-free from 4pm instead of 10pm on the day of the Summer Rampage — a gig to be held at the Theatre Royal.
The council will also vote on approving the forecast budget for 2013-14.
