The Buks defeated the Bulldogs by effectively one wicket to reaffirm their position at the top of the Grassmere Cricket Association A grade ladder.
They resumed day two at 1-32 in pursuit of 287 and slumped to 7-162 before the tail got them over the line eight wickets down.
The win came thanks to a series of individual efforts, starting with Brian Wilson who posted a commanding century at the top of the order.
Wilson made 106 but had sidekicks in Patrick Sinnott (83 not out), Jason Alberts (51) and Tyson Umbers (10 not out).
Sinnott and Alberts put on 81 for the eighth wicket. Umbers then teamed with Sinnott to put on 48 for the ninth — and last — wicket.
Yambuk only had nine wickets at its disposal, thanks to a broken toe to Kevin McElgunn, meaning Sinnott and Umbers had to hold firm.
Captain Dan Oakley said the triumph was memorable for the ladder leader, which is still without gun batsman Steve Gleeson.
“I knew if we batted our overs we could go close, but it’s always hard to bat the overs when you’re one down overnight,” he said.
“Brian got us off to a good start and Paddy steered the ship at the end.
‘‘It’s one of the better run chases I’ve been involved in.
“Especially not having Steve Gleeson at the top of the order.
‘‘Quite a lot of our big scores are established around him.
“It’s a bit of confidence for the boys with Steve being out injured, that’s the biggest thing.”
Nathan Shand (3-104) and Tom Wright (4-68) were the pick of the Panmure bowlers and toiled away for a combined 52 overs.
Their efforts came after Chris Bant blasted a century a week earlier to lift the Bulldogs to the imposing total. In other matches, Killarney claimed the first outright win of the season by beating Mailors Flat at Winslow.
Killarney dismissed Mailors Flat for 139 in its second innings before rushing to 1-84 to take full points.
The Crabs had routed the Jets for 46 and declared at 4-107 on day one to set up the emphatic win.
Wangoom caused an upset by defeating Grassmere by 27 runs in a low-scoring match at Purnim.
The Roosters, defending just 138, dismissed the Meerkats for 111 and reached 2-119 in their second innings.
Paceman Shamus O’Beirne took a match-defining 5-19 from 12.4 overs to be the main catalyst behind the win.
And Purnim took the win against Hawkesdale but was unable to emerge with outright points at Hawkesdale.
The Bulls secured first-innings points on day one and resumed their second dig at 0-12, finishing all out for 117.
They had 23 overs to dismiss the Cats a second time, but Murray Habel (53) ensured that did not happen by leading his side to 2-86 at stumps.
