Leishman well placed

WARRNAMBOOL'S Marc Leishman is preparing himself for the round of his golfing life after giving himself a chance of a big finish in tomorrow's final round of the US PGA Championship.

The 28-year-old produced two consistent rounds on the treacherous Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, South Carolina, to be tied for 21st heading into the final round.

Leishman, who carded a two-over par 74 opening round, had an even-par round yesterday and this morning had a one-under 71. He is one-over for the tournament, seven shots behind joint leaders, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and Fijian Vijay Singh who are yet to complete their third rounds after play was suspended because of a storm.

The third round will be completed tonight (AEST) followed by the final round.
