The new 35-metre long, two-metre wide slippery slide runs along a hill from the Jamieson Street end of the outdoor grassed area at AquaZone.
Yesterday’s perfect weather conditions meant eight lucky AquaZone staff members were chosen to test the new attraction.
Services manager Ray Smith was on hand to monitor its progress.
“We think it’s as safe as houses,” Mr Smith said. “We recently completed a strategy plan to 2025 and identified the need for more activities for the youth market. This, we think, will be perfect for teens.”
Run using tap water, the slide will operate from 1pm until 3pm each Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Participants must be aged four and over.
