Woolworths is putting the final touches on its new $12 million Dennington supermarket which is scheduled to open in less than a fortnight. It will employ about 110 staff, including more than 60 new to the company.
A Woolworths spokeswoman said yesterday the store would have 50,000 product lines and cover more than 3200 square metres. “It will offer customers the ultimate shopping experience,” she said. The supermarket, which will trade from 7am to 10pm, is the main tenant in a new Dennington retail plaza which also has shop space for other smaller retail outlets and 168 car parking spaces. Goldstrike Developments built the complex on the former McVilly Timber yards off Raglan Parade. Construction work started late last year after approval from Warrnambool City Council and the state government. Plans to install traffic lights on Raglan Parade at the supermarket are awaiting approval and funding from VicRoads. 120810LP05 Picture: LEANNE PICKETT
