Warrnambool Fire Brigade station officer Dave Ferguson said the 1994 Freightliner truck was parked outside a resident’s house on College Street in the Toohey housing estate near Wangoom Road when the fire broke out soon after 2pm yesterday.
Mr Ferguson said the truck’s cabin was well alight when firemen arrived and its engine was also burnt in the blaze.
However, the chassis and trailer were not damaged.
Mr Ferguson said the cause of the fire had not been determined but it was not believed to be suspicious.
In another incident, a person aged in their fifties was taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital for treatment after they received minor injuries in a two-car collision at the intersection of Raglan Parade and Banyan Street shortly after 3pm yesterday.
