Warrnambool fund-raisers hit right note with $22,000 for typhoon victims

A FUND-raising concert on Boxing Day at the Whalers Hotel for victims of last month’s Philippines typhoon raised more than $2500.

The Warrnambool concert, called Fund Raising for the Philippines — The Second Wave, featured 10 bands.

Concert spokesman Boyd Advincula said the money raised was on top of the $19,000 the Stand Together as One concert at Warrnambool’s St Pius X hall raised on December 21.

Mr Advincula said the total of more than $22,000 would be sent to five Rotary clubs in Tacloban, one of the cities most affected by the typhoon.
