Thomas the Tank Engine gift a ride of a lifetime

Hugo Perrin, 2, and his brother Jack, 4, have their own

Thomas the Tank Engine, built by their great-grandfather Jeff Hill.

It  took more than a few hands to move the present and nobody bothered with wrapping paper.

The present was built with heart and some cleverly transformed recycled goods.

Mr Hill spent months handcrafting the large model.

“Great poppy Jeff made it from marine ply wood so it wouldn’t get damaged. He’s recycled all bits and pieces and used an old washing machine barrel,” Hugo and Jack’s mother Ebony Perrin said.

“Jack is obsessed with Thomas and trains, so that’s why he made it.”
