Parks Victoria district manager Graham Parkes said rainwater building up at the top of cliffs had created safety concerns from rockfalls. “Obviously visitor safety is paramount, so we have closed off the areas and put up some signage to direct visitors,” Mr Parkes said.
“Some visitors walk along the second beach but numbers are restricted by the rocky nature of the beach.”
Parks Victoria detected rock movements on December 20.
A spokeswoman for Parks Victoria said the closure was temporary, while rangers considered what action to take.
The Great South West Walk is unaffected.
