Yambuk’s Hamish Gleeson will captain the under 13 squad, with Hawkesdale’s Jacob Linke as his deputy, while Corey Sinnott is coach.
Panmure has the biggest representation, with five Bulldogs putting their hands up to play — Braden Mahony, Declan Bourke, Isaac Steel, Sam Lenehan and Brad Gedye.
The squad also includes Isaac Sinnott, Matthew Sinnott, Josie Barker (Yambuk); Matthew Rea (Wangoom) and Daniel Arnott (Woolsthorpe).
The players all have ties to a GCA club but play in either the GCA colts’ competition or the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association under 13 grade.
Portland Country Week runs from January 13 to 15 and features representative squads from across the region. It goes ahead a week after Warrnambool Country Week, for under 17s and Horsham Country Week, for under 15s, which is from January 6 to 10.
The GCA will unveil its under 17 squad later this week but player numbers mean it is not assembling an under 15 squad.
Selectors last week named the senior side, which is bound for Bendigo Country Week from January 20 to 24.
The seniors finished runner-up in division two at their first attempt, losing to Goulburn Valley Colts in the division two grand final.
The success came after years of heavy defeats at Melbourne Country Week which prompted the change of competition.
