The Waves extended their winning streak to three games yesterday, recording a nine-wicket win over North Metro at Brunswick.
They play South East Sharks in their final pool game today.
A win will book the Waves’ spot in the MCG decider in March.
The Waves defeated South West Metro and Northern Rivers in their two opening day Twenty20 matches on Tuesday.
They bundled North Metro out for 90 in their 40-over match yesterday and had little trouble surpassing the total in reply, eventually posting 153.
Workers-Gol Gol Cricket Club’s Mackinley Blows top scored with 40 and Hawkesdale’s Grace Linke made 23 batting at number three.
Brauer College’s Gemma Gibbins took 1-15 and Emmanuel College’s Mikayla Doran had a direct run out.
The Northern Rivers-South West and Central Highlands-South East Sharks games were abandoned due to rain and deemed draws.
Western Waves only lost half an hour to rain.
