WARRNAMBOOL'S Marc Leishman has had a tough finish to his opening round at the final golf major of the year, the US PGA Championship.
The 28-year-old carded a two-over par 74 in this morning's opening round on The Coastal Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina.
He is eight shots behind leader Sweden's Carl Petterson, who had a six-under 66.
Leishman, starting on the back nine, turned in two-under 34, but had a horror home, making five bogeys and a birdie.
He had the toughest of the conditions, with morning players faring well before the wind got up.
