HIGHLY-polished duco and shiny mag wheels signalled the arrival of Australian muscle cars to the south-west on the weekend.
Thirty-eight vehicles took part in the biennial Monaros Out West rally, with their owners travelling from as far as Adelaide, Melbourne and the Wimmera.
Committee member Jason McCallum said participants were based in Port Fairy for the weekend, with visits to Warrnambool, Allansford and Koroit.
Mr McCallum said the models included the original HK Monaro, as well as HG, HZ, VZ and CV8 models, ranging in value from $50,000 to more than $100,000.
He said the vehicles always turned heads as they travelled around in convoy.
Mr McCallum has owned his 1970 HG Monaro for 24 years, even driving it on his honeymoon to Kangaroo Island 22 years ago.
He bought it second-hand and never realised how much it would be worth today.
