A Warrnambool man died after falling from his bike in the CBD late on Saturday night.
Matthew McNeil was riding near the corner of Henna and Lava streets when he fell suddenly.
A motorist who was following called emergency services.
Paramedics worked on the 43-year-old for 40 minutes but were unable to revive him.
Sergeant Jason Puschenjak, of Warrnambool police, said the incident occurred about 11.10pm.
“It appears he has had a medical issue,” he said.
“Police and ambulance attended and they conducted CPR for 40 minutes but he was unable to be revived.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man was unconscious and not breathing when paramedics arrived.
“He went into full cardiac arrest and died at the scene.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
