A TIMBOON woman caught at almost five times the alcohol limit has been banned from driving for two years.
Virginie Mainsbridge, 29, of Neal Street, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to drink-driving with a reading of .244.
She was convicted and fined $750, with $110 costs. Her licence was cancelled for two years.
The court heard that on July 26 at 11.20pm police intercepted Mainsbridge at Nirranda east. She recorded a positive preliminary breath test and was taken to the Port Campbell police station.
She told police she had been drinking wine between 6pm and 11pm and was driving to see her children.
Defence counsel Allan Pugh said his client was deeply sorry for the offending. She had been under considerable stress at the time and had since sought assistance and treatment.
Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt said it was clear from references that Mainsbridge was a valued member of the community and he was pleased she had sought assistance for her issues.
