WDCA officials yesterday announced Murphy would lead the 15-man squad in division one at the Western Waves Festival of Cricket at Hamilton.
The gun batsman is one of two Bulls cricketers in the squad. His younger brother Mark has also won selection.

Jay Wynd and Damon Delaney are the Nirranda representatives.
Wynd has earned a spot in his first season in the WDCA.

Four clubs have one representative, with Ben Boyd (Russells Creek), Daminda Ranaweera (Dennington), Aaron Williams (Port Fairy) and Josh Stapleton (Merrivale) named.
WDCA officials have opted for youth in picking a 16-man squad to contest division two.
Nestles opener Geoff Williams will captain the seconds, which includes Matt Price, Glenn Hannah (Nestles), Bill Quinlivan (Russells Creek), Gault McCluggage (Allansford), Sean Fary, Otto Opperman, Zashan Arshad (Merrivale), Josh Campbell, Ben Threlfall (West Warrnambool), Brad Parsons, Joe Medew-Ewen (Port Fairy), Tom Bowman, Ryan McArdle (Wesley-CBC), Luke Wines and Hamish Withers (Woodford).
The WDCA squads will have a training session on Sunday at Jones Oval, from 10.30am.
