POLICE are seeking information on a burglary and theft from SportsPower in Liebig Street, Warrnambool.
The crime happened between 11pm on Friday, August 30 and 4am the following morning when offenders gained entry by cutting holes in the iron roof.
The offenders then cut holes in the plaster ceiling and stole a large number of Asics and Nike sports shoes valued at more than $20,000 retail.
Detective Senior Constable Wayne Ryan, of Warrnambool police’s criminal investigations unit, said anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. “This crime has taken considerable planning and the offenders have spent a considerable amount of time committing the crime,” Detective Senior Constable Ryan said.
“It was committed on a Friday night and there would have been a lot of people either in the Raglan Parade area near the Warrnambool Standard offices or in the Lava Street area between the Kepler Street and Liebig Street intersections around the time of offending.
“If any person observed anything they believe was suspicious or has any information relating to this offence, we urge them to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
