THE nation’s superstars of wrestling are set to rock Warrnambool in a night of high-flying, hard-hitting and non-stop action.
Professional wrestling makes a highly anticipated return to the south-west on January 4 as the Coastal Conflict tour detours for one night only.
In 2007 Total Wrestling Entertainment (TWE) staged a Warrnambool show with an audience of about 1000 people.
Promoter Steven Pullen said it was a thrill to bring the hottest show in Australia back to those fans.
“This monster event will leave fans in awe,” he said.
“The drawcard will be an epic Tables, Ladders and Chairs main event match.”
The all-ages Coastal Conflict events are fuelled by the popularity of US pro wrestling empire WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), and promoters have promised locals will have the first chance at tickets ahead of the busy tourist season.
Some of the colourful characters appearing at the live event will include national heavyweight champion Daniel Swagger, Japanese hard-core icon ‘Mad Dog’ McCrea, two-time state champion Danny Psycho, and dwarf wrestler Blake “Mr Big” Johnston.
Johnston recently made headlines as the victim of a prank at a St Kilda Football Club ‘Mad Monday’ celebration.
Swagger and Johnston will also be visiting local primary schools as part of the Little Champions anti-bullying program.
