THE South Australian raid on the 42nd Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is under way.
Highly-rated drivers Daniel Pestka and Luke Dillon are the latest nominations for the three-night showcase in January.
Pestka, a former motocross star, will drive the S27 car after a breakout season on the World Series Sprintcars (WSS) circuit, placing sixth overall.
Dillon was likewise stellar during the WSS, finishing fourth in the S81 car after winning the opening two nights.
His efforts caught the eye of Diamond Bay Motorsport officials, who convinced him to race the W26 machine in major West Australian shows.
Dillon will have the backing of the Bunbury-based team when he chases Classic glory.
The Classic will go ahead from January 24 to 26 and has a record $250,000 prizemoney on offer, including $30,000 for the winner.
The event also offers qualifying spots for the World Challenge at Knoxville in August next year.
