MOYNE Shire is still pursuing energy giant AGL to pay up to $14 million for cratered roads pulverised by trucks during construction of the Macarthur wind farm.

Mayor Jim Doukas said he expected to hear from the company “any day” over council’s demands to repair local government roads.
“We’re waiting to hear back from AGL. We’ve had a number of in-depth discussions on the issues,” Cr Doukas said.
Council wants the company to fix the roads either through their own subcontractors or by handing over $14 million to council.
If the talks reach a deadlock, it’s likely the matter will land in Victoria’s highest planning authority, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
Moyne Shire chief executive David Madden said negotiations had been handled in “good faith” but warned council was determined.
“I’m always optimistic but our fallback position will be to get the matter listed in VCAT,” Mr Madden said.
“It would be nice to have some sort of outcome by Christmas.”
