VANDALS have left a trail of destruction with about 20 signs knocked down on the Castle Carey Road between Camperdown and Glenormiston.
Corangamite Shire Council assistant team leader of maintenance Nathan Brebner said at least 20 signs had been damage during the weekend rampage with the total bill expected to reach $5000.
He said it appeared that a four-wheel-drive vehicle had driven over the signs at high speed.
“The damage was certainly caused over the weekend, maybe Friday or Saturday night,” he said.
“It looks like a big four-wheel-drive has been used to drive over the signs at high speed. The signs will all have to be replaced. I suspect that damage would have to have been caused to the vehicle involved.”
Mr Brebner called on anyone with information about the vandalism to contact Terang police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
