CAMPERDOWN’S Theatre Shop is the new base for WestVic Dairy.
The dairy industry regional development body secured a three-year lease on the Manifold Street building from September 1.
Part of the Theatre Royal complex and managed by Corangamite Shire Council, the building includes offices and two meeting rooms.
The shop has been vacant for the past 18 months.
WestVic, which has about 12 staff, previously operated from a base at Terang’s DemoDAIRY but decided a move to Camperdown would provide a more central position to serve the region’s farmers.
WestVic Dairy is also hoping to more clearly define its role and brand, explaining that people may have been confused because the organisation had previously operated alongside DemoDAIRY and the National Centre for Dairy Education Australia.
WestVic Dairy is funded by Dairy Australia.
