THE Terang Co-op has thrown its support behind Peter’s Project and is encouraging members and shoppers to do the same.
The co-op has donated $5000 towards the $5 million target to build an integrated cancer care centre in Warrnambool.
Co-op chairman Wayne Johnstone said a new centre would be an excellent outcome for the whole south-west.
“We see Peter’s Project as something worth supporting for the whole region,” he said.
“Everyone around Terang will know someone who has had cancer.
“Being able to undergo treatment locally would be the best possible outcome for Terang and district residents.”
Members of the co-op will also have the opportunity to donate part or all of their membership points to the appeal.
The Target $5 Million Appeal is a 12-month campaign appealing for donations to raise $5 million to fund the cancer care centre the south-west needs, with $1 million already raised.
It continues the long-running four-and-a-half-year campaign headed by Peter’s Project founder and director Vicki Jellie.
