A CONTEST court hearing into alleged thefts from a Warrnambool café will continue on Monday, September 9.
Selena Gore, 30, of Ryot Street, Warrnambool, pleaded not guilty to theft charges.
Police alleged during hearings last Thursday and Friday in Warrnambool Magistrates Court that thefts totalling more than $2000 occurred during August and October last year at Warrnambool’s Wyton Cellars.
In a police interview, which was shown to the court, Ms Gore admitted to the thefts, which included staff tips.
Ms Gore’s defence counsel argued that a conversation took place before the interview between Ms Gore and the police officer about a diversion program.
Café owner Stephen Hickman told the court a security camera was installed at the premises and viewed as a result of a theft on October 26.
Mr Hickman said on the footage he watched Ms Gore steal money from the till and a plastic bag filled with staff tips.
It is understood that the security camera footage has been tendered to the court as part of the prosecution case.
