Mudlark Billy O’Connor probably needed a wash and change of clothes, but he wasn’t about to let the opportunity slip past for a bit of sticky fun at Port Fairy’s Gardens Oval on Saturday. His father Damian was on the field playing for Terang Mortlake in its loss to home team Port Fairy and his mother Jess played at goal keeper in the senior netball team. The oval and surrounds were saturated by recent rain and it wasn’t hard to find a mud patch. One observer said it was the wettest since 2010. This week’s forecast is for drier and warmer weather with a few days expected to hit 19 degrees.
