THIS morning's wind and weather had some reaching for their electric blankets to no avail as almost 900 south-west customers woke up without power.
A Powercor spokesman said a tree branch had caused the outage to power lines on Penshurst-Warrnambool Road in Kirkstall, cutting supply to 660 customers between Bessiebelle, Broadwater, Hawkesdale, Orford, Tarrone, Warrong, Willatook and Woolsthorpe.
The fault occurred at 6.50am but was restored by 8.30am.
Meanwhile in Warrnambool there are 226 customers without power, including CBD businesses, while Powercor repairs insulating equipment on the corner of Banyan and Koroit Streets.
The outage was caused by a fault and will be restored by 11am at the latest.
