WARRNAMBOOL’S newest sporting team is on the hunt for members.
The Warrnambool Dirty Angels roller derby squad is holding an information and recruiting day on Sunday and want to hear from anybody interested in taking up the fast-growing sport.
Roller derby is aimed mainly at women and involves two teams of five members roller skating in the same direction around a track. The aim is to stop the scoring player of the opposing team advancing, using a variety of physical methods.
The Warrnambool Dirty Angels are in the foundation stages with plans of becoming affiliated with a league in either Ballarat or Geelong within the next couple of months.
It’s hoped if there is enough interest, a separate league in Warrnambool could also be established.
The information night will be held at The Arc conference room from 4pm on Sunday.
