A YOUNG mother who kicked another woman in Target has been placed on a community corrections order.
Demi Jade Nash, 21, of Vickers Drive, Warrnambool, yesterday pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to assault by kicking, driving while suspended and stating a false name to police.
The court heard Nash was shopping in Target at 1.30pm on March 21 this year when she saw a former friend.
She yelled out to the woman and then struck her face with an open left hand.
The victim grabbed Nash’s hair and Nash kicked the victim in the stomach.
Nash made full admissions to police.
Defence counsel Jonathan Makary said the victim made a statement of no complaint to police.
On July 28 this year, Nash was caught driving while her licence was suspended and gave a false name to police.
Nash was convicted and placed on a nine-month community corrections order, which includes 50 hours of community work and the completion of an anger management course, and was fined $250.
