SEIGHT Test Team's Luke Fetch claimed his second ever National Road Series stage win after taking stage eight line honours in the Tour of the Great South Coast this afternoon.
After soaking up his first NRS stage victory yesterday, Fetch was stunned to make it two successive road race triumphs in this afternoon’s 104.3km trek from Koroit to Peterborough.
“I wasn't even thinking about a stage win today,” he said.
“I was just focusing on staying fresh for tomorrow.”
Tour Leader Sam Horgan will take a commanding 51-second lead into the tours final stage tomorrow, an arduous 93.6 kilometer Lakes and Craters road race in Camperdown, starting at 12noon in Manifold Street.
Budget Forklifts’ Jesse Kerrison has firmed as favourite to collect the sprint jersey, while Huon-Genesys leader Pat Shaw has the SCODY King of the Mountains jersey.
With defending tour champion Anthony Giacoppo forced to withdraw this morning due to tonsillitis, it paved the way for GPM Data#3 rider Scott Law to clinch the criterium jersey.
