UPGRADES made since the Telstra exchange fire in Warrnambool in November have opened up new avenues for local businesses.
The business technology expo, which will be held on Wednesday at City Memorial Bowls Club, promises to demonstrate the latest hi-tech options for small business operators, Telstra’s south-west area general manager Bill Mundy said.
“As part of the (follow-up to) the Warrnambool exchange outage, we made a commitment to Warrnambool businesses to expose opportunities to them that have come from the refurbishment of the exchange,” Mr Mundy said.
“We thought the best way to do that is with a technology expo.”
The expo coincides with the Warrnambool Small Business Festival and will feature more than a dozen companies displaying the latest in hi-tech possibilities and equipment.
“It’s about giving businesses an opportunity to look at the latest technology trends and how they can influence the productivity and efficiency in a business,” he said.
“The first result of the refurbishment of the exchange has been an increase in the broadband capabilities, and that gives businesses more opportunities.”
The expo takes place from 10am to 6pm on Wednesday.
