Graceful girls put best feet forward

Graceful young performer glittered in the spotlights when the City of Warrnambool Eisteddfod calisthenics section was held at King’s College on the weekend.

Sequins and sparkling costumes featured prominently during the combined dance, gym, song and action competition that judges presentation with choreography, technique and teamwork. Calisthenics clubs from Warrnambool, Portland, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Horsham and Ballarat were among those to compete in the three-day event, which began on Friday. About 2000 sub-junior, junior, intermediate and senior competitors took to the stage in about 340 solo and team performance items.
