Portland has grabbed the spotlight as the mecca for whale watching this year. While there have been very few sightings of the majestic creatures at Warrnambool’s Logans Beach whale nursery, plenty of southern rights and humpbacks have enthralled spectators at Portland and Cape Bridgewater. Photographer and fishing enthusiast Bob McPherson captured these two southern right whales 50 metres off the Lee Breakwater on Thursday afternoon.
