ONE man was knocked unconscious and received facial injuries and another suffered a suspected broken nose in an assault in the Warrnambool CBD early yesterday.
Detective Senior Constable Gary Greene said the incident occurred shortly after 3am in Timor Street when two men approached and allegedly assaulted three 18-year-old males.
It is believed there would have been several witnesses, he said, as the nearby nightclubs had just closed and there were approximately 100 people on the street.
“I’m very confident that the offenders will be identified by not only witnesses but also from CCTV footage from the nightclub, so I would appeal for the offenders to come forward and hand themselves into police,” Detective Senior Constable Greene said.
He added it was believed the assault was unprovoked.
The teen who was knocked unconscious was taken to hospital. The third teen assaulted received minor injuries.
Detective Senior Constable Greene said the incident occurred on the north side of Timor Street between Kepler and Gilles streets.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Crime Stoppers or Warrnambool police.
