A 60-year-old restored 1940s McCormick Farmall Super A tractor was auctioned yesterday, raising $4100 for South West Healthcare’s palliative care unit in Warrnambool.
The tractor was donated by Warrnambool’s Ian Spikin and was restored by his late father Jim.
A further $4400 was raised through gate takings.
About 2000 people converged on the rally over Saturday and Sunday.
Organiser Brian Cockayne said some of the drawcards included a portable steam engine and a portable sawmill.
“We had about 78 tractors on display, 150 vintage cars and utes, between 45 and 50 engines and about 50 motorbikes,” he said.
“It’s the biggest one by far.”
