ADAM Dowie enhanced his reputation as a master coach, guiding Koroit to victory in his first outing with the club in the Hampden league pre-season cup.
Koroit claimed the cup and the $4153 prize for the first time with a four-point win over league newcomer Hamilton Kangaroos at Gardens Oval, Port Fairy.
While the Saints were the big winners, the Kangaroos made a statement to the rest of the competition they be a tough team to beat in their debut season.
In the pre-season netball cup, Emma O'Keeffe had a dream debut in charge of Port Fairy, leading the Seagulls to a 14-8 win over North Warrnambool Eagles.
O'Keeffe, who crossed from Warrnambool, was delighted with her side's domination of the competition, winning all seven matches.
It was the first piece of silverware for the Seagulls in A grade netball competition in 26 years.
