WARRNAMBOOL’S EveElle Scarlett will compete for the national title of Miss Pin-up Australia next month.
Miss Scarlett aka Melanie McLean won the Miss Illustrated category in the state championships on Saturday. Her best friend Kellie “Cherry Ripple” Hoy was runner-up.
Ms McLean said the win still hadn’t sunk in. “I just didn’t expect it,” she said. “I was so nervous, I was shaking.
“Especially when I got up to do my talent. I was a Pan Am stewardess and I did the safety talk with a few jokes.
“Once there was the first laugh I relaxed.”
Ms McLean will also compete for the national title of Miss Illustrated and said she expected the competition in Sydney to be tough.
“I really want to thank everyone for their support, especially Kellie,” she said.
“If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have been in it.”
