IT will be a combination of pretty frocks and boxing gloves when best friends Melanie McLean and Kellie Hoy do battle for the state title of Miss Pinup Australia.
Ms McLean and Ms Hoy, aka Miss EveElle Scarlett and Miss Cherry Ripple respectively, will compete on Saturday with the Warrnambool women the only competitors in the Miss Illustrated category.
Ms McLean said it would not be as daunting going up against Ms Hoy and they would be able to support each other.
“Before hand we were freaking out big time,” she said. “We were talking about it, and it does take a bit of the pressure off.
“We still have to put in a lot of effort. But it’s a little less daunting going up with Kellie.”
The Warrnambool IT technician and photographer have embraced everything about the 1950s era.
Miss Pinup Australia is open to all women with a love for vintage glamour.
The Miss Illustrated category is for women with permanent artwork on their bodies.
