A HUGE bushfire in the southern Grampians is still burning out of control after an overnight wind change blew the front away from its approach towards Dunkeld.
This morning the fire was about 8881 hectares in size, burning north-westerly towards the Victoria Range.
Crews from Parks Victoria, Country Fire Authority and Department of Sustainability and Environment are working on consolidating containment lines and patrolling private property in the Victoria Valley.
Another smaller blaze in Cassidy Gap on the Serra Range was 12 kilometres north-east of Dunkeld and classified as out of control.However, authorities said there was no threat to communities.
Looming thunderstorms pose further threats of new outbreaks.
Meanwhile, crews are still working on containing fires near Edenhope and Irrewillipe.
In Warrnambool the National Australia Bank business centre in Kepler Street was evacuated this morning after fire alarms went off and acrid smoke could be smelt in the area.
