The sight of his grandfather’s cows wandering back to the paddocks after their afternoon milking at Nullawarre caught his eye, so he snapped a photo using his grandfather’s camera.
That image of the cows, framed by the overhanging branches of a gum tree, won Ben the primary school section of The Standard’s Field Days photographic competition.
Ben, of Warrnambool, said he entered the competition at his mother’s suggestion and often took photos using his father’s phone or other interactive technology. He won an enlarged copy of his photo reproduced on canvas.
Other winners were: Secondary — Emily Cowell; Digitally Modified — Paul Moloney; Open Senior — Rachael Anderson.
