Mystery surrounds the deaths of the two pelicans, which were discovered this week.
DSE senior biodiversity officer Mandy Watson said it was difficult to determine the cause of death without a post mortem.
She said it could have been coincidence and they may have been washed into the one location.
She said if there were a number of birds found dead, it would be cause for concern.
