CONTROVERSY over the Wilma Wright letters which have embroiled Warrnambool City Council chief executive Bruce Anson for more than three months is set to flare again tonight.

A notice of motion has been lodged by Cr Brian Kelson to call for more information from the Local Government Inspectorate which earlier cleared Mr Anson from involvement in letters written to The Standard by his son Jacob.
One of the letters disparaged Cr Peter Hulin, Cr Peter Sycopoulis and former councillor Jennifer Lowe in the lead-up to the October council elections.
After the inspectorate’s report was accepted and noted, with debate gagged, at the January meeting the trio announced they would ask the new state independent anti-corruption commission to investigate the letters, as well as the failed Allansford industrial land saga and handling of the livestock saleyards relocation proposal.
Cr Kelson now wants to know if the Local Government Inspectorate investigators sought statutory declarations from the Ansons.
The council meeting starts at 5.45pm and will also include a report on a land exchange with King’s College, a petition for garbage collection at Anchor Point Village and the BMX relocation project, along with opportunity for public questions.
