Police turn to security footage after Portland restaurant burglary

PORTLAND police detective are reviewing security camera footage after thieves stole a safe from a Thai restaurant in Henty Street this week.

Detective Senior Constable Perry Lattin, of the Portland police Crime Investigation Unit, said thieves forced entry to the Lemongrass Thai Cuisine Restaurant during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

He said a safe was stolen containing an undisclosed amount of cash including Thai currency.

"We are reviewing security camera footage of the break-in and would request any witnesses or anyone with information about the burglary and theft break-in to contact the Portland police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
