Lighthouse Theatre reveals season of surprises

THE big secret about what’s in store for the Lighthouse Theatre season will be revealed in Warrnambool tonight.

Light’s Up, the annual season launch, has become an artistic event in its own right.

Theatre manager Greg Diamantis said two special guests would “whet the tastebuds of the loyal theatregoers”.

“We’ve been getting phone calls since December asking when the launch is,” he said of the anticipation for tonight’s announcement.

“We are very excited about our first full year of performances in the Lighthouse Theatre after what was a very big and busy year in 2012.”

While the full program is embargoed until the event, Mr Diamantis said there would  be 20 performances of 16 different shows. This will include a return to the road, which previously had shows performed in regional halls while the theatre was undergoing its redevelopment.

He said another feature of the program would be to build on the success of the studio area, including a cabaret.
