Isaac Wallace Templeton, 28, of Geelong, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court heard Mr Templeton categorically denied the charge of indecent assault but intended to plead guilty to unlawful assault.
Police prosecutor senior constable Kevin Mullins said on June 10 last year the alleged victim was at a hotel.
He said without warning Mr Templeton allegedly grabbed the victim in a bear hug and she resisted but was pulled close.
He said Mr Templeton thrust forwards and backwards in an act known as dry humping.
He said the victim got free and was completely humiliated and upset by the incident.
The court heard 15 witnesses made statements to police.
The hearing was adjourned for a contest mention on February 19.
