The man walked away from the accident with no visible injuries after the accident at Pirron Yallock yesterday. Constable Darren Busfield, of Colac police, said two large round hay bales, which weigh an average of 500 kilograms, fell from the back of a west-bound semi-trailer, at 11am.
“The bales collided with a four-wheel-drive utility that was heading east. It was a fairly big impact,” Constable Busfield said.
“He’s a lucky boy. The vehicle was a write-off.”
Constable Busfield said traffic on the highway was disrupted for two hours as Country Fire Authority members cleared the scene.
