FUND-RAISING for cancer research will take on a green bias when Warrnambool Relay For Life organisers hold a mixed social bowls day on Sunday.
It will start at 1.30pm on the Lawn Tennis Bowls Club greens on Pertobe Road followed by a barbecue from 5pm.
“We want to raise awareness for the big relay which will be on February 8 and 9 at Deakin University oval,” he said.
“Summer holiday season is a good promotion opportunity while there are plenty of people around. Our fund-raiser will have a $5 per person charge and there will be prizes and giveaways.”
Last year’s 18-hour relay attracted 1200 participants and brought the 10-year-total proceeds to more than $1.5 million.
