Frost yesterday outlined plans to contest as many Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship (ASDRC) rounds as possible as he seeks to rise up the standings.
The bold ambition, which has a hefty price tag, follows victory in the modified bikes class at round two of the series at South Coast Raceway, Portland.
Frost qualified second-fastest with 5.56 seconds for an eighth-mile (200 metres), reaching 194km/h on his 1132cc Kawasaki ZX10 modified bike on Saturday.
The veteran racer backed up the performance by winning four knockout rounds, including the final against Matthew Hunt on Sunday.
He clocked 5.62 seconds in the decider thanks to a near-perfect reaction time of 0.008 seconds, hitting 183km/h in the process.
Frost said work commitments could finally allow him time off to travel to series rounds across Australia, including the next instalment in Adelaide on February 23 and 24.
“We’ll see how we go for the next couple and we’ll go from there,” he said.
Frost was one of 160 racers who contested the ASDRC round.
The two-day showcase was the first time in more than a decade top-level drag racing had gone ahead in Victoria.
Frost said the decision to stage a round in Victoria on a non-traditional eighth-mile strip was the right move.
He hopes the weekend would strengthen a bid for a professional drag strip in the Warrnambool district.
Other class winners in round two included Craig Geddes (super competition), Jason Salmon (competition bike), Kenny Stewart (modified) and Brett Matthew (super sedan).
Portland’s Scott Cleary won super street, Erin Koukides junior dragster and Kym Oberauer super gas.
